A Digital, sign-up zine about Redhaired Shanks and his pirate crew.
What is a zine?A Zine is a collection of fics and art about one subject, theme, character or group. This all is bundled into one solid work to enjoy like one would a magazine. What is this zine? We're a Zine that's tied together with [Newscoo zines] (https://t.co/zwxfh77YNf). In short this means that we work with sign-ups and not with applications. For this particular zine, the topic (as stated in the title) will be Redhaired Shanks and his crew.Do I have to have previous Zine experience to join?
No, the only requirement is that you are 18 or older when sign-ups end.
Do I have to write smut in this zine?
No, while there is room for more nsfw content, we also want to give people a chance to write gen or sfw content.
sfw = safe for work (generally gen or teen rated), nsfw = not safe for work (generally mature or explicit rated, gen = general, not shipping content. Can I create for more than one category?Yes, you can create for all three if you'd like. So every contributor can create three pieces max.
We’ll be working with two zines.1. A general Red Hair Pirates zine which will be a GEN/TEEN rating.
a. Ex: Life depicting the RHP as they sail, Shanks meeting Beck and starting the crew, a quiet moment with Uta or Luffy.2. A side-zine which will delve into the platonic and romantic relationships the crew has. This can include anything on the ship or outside of it.This part will be divided into 4 sections:
a. GEN/TEEN: non-graphic, up to kissing. No tags are needed, as nothing can be done above the AO3 rating mentioned.
b. SFW: canon-typical violence, bloodshed, kissing/first base (everything over clothes)/implied sexual content.
- We ask that violence and implied sexual content do get tagged. AO3 rating can be T/M.
c. NSFW: E-Rating, can include explicit sex scenes, character death, violence and gore.
- However, we won’t be allowing morally questionable content (incest, shota/loli, minor x adult).
- Tagging required (like AO3 does) so we can include these in the summary, and readers can opt out if they want to.
d. Reader/OC Insert: This can go through all three of the topics mentioned above but delves exclusively with a reader or OC insert into the fic.As we are a part of NewsCoo, we adhere to a ship and let ship policy. As such, we are open to each and everyone who wants to apply regardless of their view on the series, character(s), and possible pairings. We ask that you all do the same.GeneralSince the zine contains NSFW content, you must be 18 years or older to participate in this zine.As the theme of the zine is Shanks and his crew, we expect your piece to revolve around this theme.- You will be expected to make something entirely new, no reusing old works.
- We also won't allow any plagiarized, stolen, or AI-generated artworks or stories.
- You can make pieces with canon characters in a pairing (platonic or romantic).
- Pieces with OCs are also allowed, in the forementioned section and not across the whole project.
- Over the whole project, you are allowed to step outside of canon-compliant content such as canon-divergent or AU (Alternate Universe) content is more than welcome.
- You can, if you want, make a piece for each of the sections, up to 5 total pieces.Page Artist- Page artists are expected to create at least one piece (you can make up to three).
- These can be single page (vertical orientation) or spread page (horizontal orientation).
